At Amity Funerals, we provide comprehensive international and interstate repatriation services. Our experienced team will guide you through every step, ensuring all legal, logistical, and cultural requirements are met with professionalism and respect.
Inclusions:
Arrangement and planning with a dedicated funeral director
Transfer of the deceased
Full mortuary care and preparation
Embalming (as required for international transfers)
Dressing and presentation of the deceased
Placement in an approved hermetically sealed coffin (Maxwell Model Included) (zinc-lined or heat-sealed as required)
All necessary legal documentation, including:
Death registration and certified certificates
Permits from the Department of Health and Department of Foreign Affairs
Embassy liaison and required documentation
Notary public declarations and certified translations (if required)
Delivery to the airport in custom crate on secured shipping pallet
Coordination with the receiving funeral director overseas
Flight booking based on cargo weight and airline availability
Additional Information:
Repatriation services start at $6,950, with more complex arrangements typically ranging from $8,950 and above.
Costs vary based on destination, documentation requirements, consular fees, and airline routing (many flights route via hubs such as Dubai).
The family must book any accompanying passenger travel separately through the airline.
A local Melbourne church service prior to repatriation is available as an optional extra, typically adding $2,000 plus any associated venue or clergy fees.
Please note:
Transfer from a private hospital, home, or nursing home during business hours will incur an additional fee of $200.
Transfers outside of business hours will incur an additional fee of $400.
